Introduction

Today, we’ve got some new information on one of the new crops coming with the Premium Expansion to Farming Simulator 22; Carrots. In the Premium Expansion for FS22, Carrots, Parsnips, and Red Beets are coming to the game, and will be available on all maps when Premium is enabled. The DLC will be here on Tuesday, November 14th, so let’s jump in and check out everything you need to know about Carrots!

Carrot Spec Sheet

Starting with a nice spec-sheet! You can expect a yield of around 77,000 liters per hectare, with an average selling price of $1,320 per 1,000 liters. You’ll need only 10 liters of seed per hectare, which is just wild, and they have a growth duration of 4 months. If you are using the base-game planting schedule, you’ll plant between April and July, and harvest between August and November.

Farming Simulator 22 Premium Expansion

Rotary Hillers & Planting

While most of the procedures are the same as the other crops, they require new machines to plant and harvest; but there’s also a new step needed…

After plowing the field, you will need to create ridges, by using the Grimme GF 400 or 800 Rotary Hillers. This step has a positive effect on yield, as it counts towards the full stage of fertilization on Carrots. Sounds like you’ll be able to plant WITHOUT doing this step, but I wouldn’t advise it. Speaking of seed, we’ll also have some new seeders to go along with it!

Harvesting

For harvesting, there are a few options. The larger option is the Dewulf ZKIVSE self-propelled 4-row top lifting harvester, with a discharge elevator; and is the highlight of this expansion. The only thing to keep in mind when using this piece of equipment is… you will have to cart the entire time while using it. It doesn’t have a capacity, so if you don’t have a trailer running beside it, the machine will just sit there when you have a worker hired.

Likewise, you can also use the Dewulf GBC which is a single-row trailed top lifting harvester, with a capacity of 5,500 liters. As far as I can tell, of the 4x harvesters coming with this dlc, this is the only one with a capacity.

Pre-Selected Equipment

If you want to utilize the Equipment Selections in-game, then this is what you’ll get;

  • The Claas Axion 800 and Tenwinkel 1000 weight
  • K-brand 4-meter subsoiler
  • Grimme GF 400 Rotary Hiller, new with the DLC
  • Kverneland Miniair Nova Sowing Machine, new with the dlc
  • Einbock Chopstar 5-90 Weeder
  • Bredal K105 Fertilizer
  • Dewulf GBC Harvester, new with the dlc
  • And the Welger DK 115 Trailer

This setup will help get you started with the base-needs for doing Carrots, and each selection offers a way to upgrade if you want to go bigger.

Conclusion

And that’s it, that’s all the new information that we’ve got today on Carrots coming with the Premium Expansion for Farming Simulator 22, which will be released on Tuesday November 14th, 2023 for all platforms! Don’t forget, this pack IS included in the Year 2 Season Pass, so if you have that, you won’t need to buy or preorder the DLC.

However, if you would like to preorder the Premium Expansion OR the Premium Edition, buy the Year 2 Season Pass, or get the game for the first time; check down below for links to all of those, and make sure you use the code DJGOHAM.
