Farming Simulator 25 – Features, Crops, & Top Requests

Watch this video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/_6A9r3hjhH4

Introduction

With the next game in the Farming Simulator franchise likely on the horizon, I want to talk about the biggest requests by the community on things that you would like to see implemented into the next game.

I’ll be breaking everything down into four main categories:

  1. Scripts and Features
  2. Environment and Crops
  3. Vehicles and Equipment
  4. And Animal Husbandry

Though, some features cross the lines. Everything is connected afterall.

If you think something was left out of this list, maybe a feature or piece of equipment that would make the next game even better, make sure you leave a comment on the video on YouTube letting me know!

There’s a lot to go over, so sit back and relax, and let’s take a look at the biggest request from the community for the next entry in the world of Farming Simulator. We all think it will be FS25, but we’ll see.

Scripts and Features

GPS

First let’s talk about things that would be considered Scripts or Features. These are things like GPS, Damage, and AI Workers. And let’s start with GPS! This mod has been a large part of the PC community for the past few entries, but a large part of the player base has been left out. Aka the Console Community. We need to get GPS as not only part of the base-game, but on all platforms.

AI Workers

Let’s keep it coming with AI Workers. We’ve seen basically the same implementation of AI Workers in Farm Sim since the beginning. Start here, go to the other side, and come back. And don’t mess it up. Without ruining the ending, the last part doesn’t always happen. We are in a great place to completely overhaul the worker system – and with the addition of GPS, this could be an epic feature for all players to make farming easier.

These workers could also do more complicated tasks, like Vineyard Work! Think how much easier grapes would be without having to harvest them yourself. Additionally, we could have AI workers do bailing work, without the need to use square balers with a mower on the front. Right now players have to kind of ‘hack’ the system to make this happen.

What if you could actually HIRE these workers as employees, so if you only had the money to hire 1, well you could only have 1 AI worker. Or you could hire 10, or more! So much more work could be done, and it could be done more realistically. Ew, I hate using that word! (haha)

But better AI is not just limited to the ones we could hire, what if we saw AI Farmers in their own fields doing work, instead of the whole map just changing field and crop states in an instant. Maybe these fields could be unpurchasable, and they’re just always “working”. That would bring so much life to the map, even if we couldn’t use that land.

Speaking of NPC AI, maybe the workers could be in other places, like factory interiors doing work, similar to what you’d see in GTA and other games. The AI system could be expanded on so much more than what it is now. Let’s bring the map to life! With AI! It’s 2024, not 2004.

Other Base Game Mods

There are other mods that would enhance the gameplay experience for some players as part of the base game, like: Course Play, Manual Attach, Precision Farming, Maize Plus, Manure System, and Follow Me – just to name a few. These are massive mods that change the game. Having the option to turn these on and off, like Manual Attach, or being able to Activate Maize Plus features at the push of a button would be nice additions to all platforms. Not to mention Manure System for Console Players. That would be huge!

Realistic Physics

One thing that works ok for Tractors but basically nothing else are the game physics and game engine. Farming Simulator, from a players point of view, has been ignoring the handling capabilities of things like trucks, cars, and even combine harvesters.

When you play other games where vehicles are concerned, each vehicle, for the most part, handles the way you would expect. But don’t you dare try to drive a sports car down the main drag of a Farm Sim map at 50 mph. It usually ends with you running into the side of a building or a fence. Or worse, ending up in some water.

There’s a setting where you can set the steering to not react as quickly, but it’s just “slow steering” and not actually adaptive or progressive steering like you would get in other games. If you’re going fast, steering like you would find in Forza, Gran Turismo, or ACC won’t let you completely turn the wheel hard left or right. It baby’s you, and keeps you from wrecking.

I’m fully aware that this is not a racing game, but faster cars and trucks have been making their way into Farm Sim since the beginning, and it would be nice for these things to evolve from the developer’s side to accommodate these. Better driving physics, betting handling… Let me drive my pickup at 100mph and don’t make me crash every time.

Damage Physics

And if I do crash, wreck it! There are plenty of other games that have damage physics on licensed assets. It may not affect the handling characteristics or performance, but if I crash, I want to see a dent, a scratch, something. Make it happen!

Or total it! If the crash is bad enough, make me tow it back to the shop and repair it. I knew the consequences of going 100 mph down that road anyway. I’ve got insurance anyway! They’ll pay for it, right? OH! Insurance on equipment with deductibles, that would be nice! Or was I going 50 mph… It was fast. I know that.

Seasons

Something that lots of players want to see return is Seasons. Specifically, the way it worked back in FS17 and 19. Now, in 22 GIANTS changed the way seasons works. They call it “Seasonal Cycles” with the ability to turn on or off the growth calendar, to plant and harvest whenever you want, or follow the guidelines preset, like geos, on each map.

This was a nice change, but bad execution. Players that liked planting and harvesting every day were left out, and players that liked seasons were also left out, with no Geo to change the crop calendar. You have to change maps if you want to change the crop calendar.

Having the option to set the visual day to anytime of the year is nice, and after talking to GIANTS about this change, I know why things were done the way they were. They wanted to make sure any player could jump in and farm the way the game wants you to. But players that know what they are doing have been stuck doing things, again, the way the game wants you to. And not everyone wants it that way. It doesn’t fit everyone’s playstyle.

It would be nice to have the option to play the way we used to, with crops growing in a single day. Or have the option to play with seasonal cycles turned on. But waiting a year and a half for something to grow if you don’t want seasons on is ridiculous. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

There’s got to be a middle ground. I’m not saying I know the answer, but I don’t get paid the big bucks to figure those things out, either.

Story Mode

Another request I’ve seen a lot is the addition of a Story Mode. Now, I’m not quite sure how this could work, but there are some players that want more involvement from AI and NPC’s, and a progression, rather than just a simulation where you can do whatever you want. And of course, the ability to turn this feature off if you don’t want it on. Just like other things mentioned.

Maybe, there are challenges to do, like doing so many jobs, like contracts, will give you more XP to unlock certain vehicles and equipment. This would require players to work harder, and give them a reward for completing these tasks.

Let’s say, at the start, you only get a handful of old or used tractors to choose from, maybe only 2 combines, and a handful of equipment to get certain jobs done. The more grain you sell, the more XP you get.

Maybe making Straw bales gives you more XP than loose Straw since it takes longer. Having an unlockable reward, that you still have to pay for, to really progress your farm. Building from the bottom and earning everything on your way to the top. I know that’s not the way the real world works, it’s all about money, but hey, it’s a game, afterall.

Perhaps, there could also be weekly challenges to do, no matter what map you’re on, which gain extra XP. Like one week, Barley Harvesting Contracts get you more XP, to level up quicker. It’s a massive change from what we’re used to, but some players, myself included, would love something like this.

Add in a weekly auction where you can sell your old equipment before upgrading if you’ve just leveled up and have access to better equipment, just not enough money yet. You could not only auction your equipment to the highest bidder, NPC’s of course, but also bid and buy other’s used equipment to which you have unlocked! Or sell to other players in Multiplayer. Maybe the Auction is the only place you could get locked equipment before having enough XP, but you’ve got the money? Man, I would be all over this!

Lift Anything

Something else some players would love is the Lift Anything mod. But base game! We’ve all gotten stuck somewhere, or just don’t want to mess with moving pallets or bales. How nice would it be to turn on Lift Anything quickly to fix your mistake, or just leave it on all the time like I did back in FS19 and be Superman 24/7. That would just be epic.

Crossplay Focused

One thing that has been grinding my gears since when I started playing Farming Simulator is the divide between Console and PC. PCs can have whatever they want, and consoles are locked down by Sony and Microsoft. Mainly Sony, let’s be real. And GIANTS, well, they make one game but allow a division between their platforms when it comes to Modhub, which causes nothing but issues. It’s time to stop it, and bring both parties together.

Modhub should have all mods available for all players. If you want to make a mod for PC only, fine, but drop it on 3rd party sites. A lot of modders do this already, and almost every game available on PC has mods on 3rd party sites. Nothing wrong with that. But this is one game, and if you’re making mods for modhub, they should have to be for everyone. And this is coming from a PC player that loves script mods, by the way.

One way around this could be to add any mods that have scripts maybe once a month in an update to the game that adds the scripts. Just like we do with DLC features. Then after that, these can be used for any mod, just like Winches with Platinum, or Passenger Seating with Kubota. Everyone wins!

And while we’re at it, It’s time to drop the PS4 and Xbox One. They are 10 years old at this point, and the most current consoles are already 4 years old, it’s just time to move on. Heck with that math, we’re only 2 years away from the next consoles! They could be releasing halfway through the lifespan of the next game, even!

These may seem like radical ideas, and I don’t think Giants will EVER stop allowing a division between platforms on modhub, but this is an FS25 request video, and this is a request! And 4x Maps for All Platforms too, not just PCs. Everyone deserves to play on awesome massive maps, with epic mods, and have everything crossplay from modhub! Let’s Go!

Bring These Back

Bringing it back down, there’s things that were in previous games that would be epic additions to the next game! Transport Missions, Seasons Geos, Landscaping from FS19 and not 22, being able to raise and lower buildings when placing them down, like in 19. And AI Traffic that’s not solid.

Early Farm Sim Games had traffic that you could hit and push off the road. Granted, this evidently caused some issues with the AI that would mess them up, but technology has come a long way since then! If literally every other game can do it, I think we can do it in Farm Sim!

Another thing to bring back would be Random Used Equipment sales like in FS17. Sure, now we have the used equipment section and that’s great! But I miss the fun of having to rush to the store to get that old Massey Tractor for my farm. It felt like every sale was perfect for what I was about to buy, and I don’t know how they did it! I would love to see Flash Sales come back.

Quality of Life

Every game needs quality of life improvements, and Farming Simulator is no different. Lots of things could make life easier for everyone, like being able to switch off machines from being cycled through, also known as tabbing. Being able to say which vehicles you want to switch between might make things easier if you’re doing cotton harvesting for example. You don’t need to switch to a combine, or mower.

Also, having a Search Bar in the store for finding specific pieces of equipment easily would be awesome! This was a mod back in FS19, but I haven’t seen it in FS22 yet. We got the search bar in the main menu, but having one in the game would make things much easier than they are now!

Also, imagine being able to just type in the amount you want for a loan, instead of going up and down by $5,000. If you want $69,420, you just type it in! No messing about and spamming keys to get the money you want.

Let me also ask you this, how many times could you have saved yourself from rage quitting by just having a back button in the landscaping menu? A few I’m sure. Having the ability to go back when you mess something up would be awesome! GIANTS have actually said why they don’t do this, but make it happen. Everything is possible. You just have to put in the work to do it.

Player Character

Let’s talk about our player characters for a minute. Right now we’ve got more customization options than we ever have in Farm Sim history! Tons of shirts, pants, branded clothing, it’s seemingly all there! We can even create custom clothing and share it with our friends as mods, at least on PC.

It would be nice to have a similar setup when it comes to all platforms. Maybe not complete custom clothing, but maybe our gamer logo or something like that. Like an organization logo! Or something completely customizable in a livery editor, so when people see your shirt or the side of your tractor, they know it’s yours!

Also, 3rd person camera view. It’s been a mod for years on PC, so we know it’s possible and doesn’t hurt anything. So let’s bring that to the forefront and let all players choose if they want first or 3rd person to play in. I wonder how much more connected we would be to the game if we were playing in 3rd person?

There are a lot of games out there that let the player choose what they want with this. We get the options when we are in equipment, so why not on foot? Now is a great time to add this feature!

Last Minute Additions

There’s a few other things that I’ve seen requested, like having a Cell Phone or Tablet to use instead of the main menu to get to things quickly, like your map layout, equipment list, and things like that. Maybe have the option to call a mechanic to come to you if something goes wrong! Or even call in a load of Seed or Fertilizer from the shop!

I’ve also seen people want to see AI workers have their own equipment. So you not only hire the worker, you lease their equipment as well. We can kind of do this now, and it would be interesting to see this implemented as a feature. I think it could work, but for now we can mimic this already. Lease the equipment, then hire a worker. And with that, we are done with the Scripts and Features section.

Environment

Weather

Moving on to Environment. This would be things like weather, crop destruction, map features, things like that. Things that you actually come in contact with when playing the game, no matter what map you’re on.

Let’s start with Weather. Players have been asking for more dynamic weather with hail, tornadoes, monsoons, and droughts. Things that normal farmers have to deal with, which then cause major crop destruction, and could even impact the damage meter on your equipment!

I know for some farmers, every year they lose everything because of massive storms, and this is something that some players would like to have, too. Of course, being able to turn this feature off would be a BIG thing! And let’s be real, it could be devastating to new players to the game.

Weather doesn’t just affect the crops, but the roads as well. There are some modders that are adding wet roads and more snow to their maps as we speak for FS22, but in the next game, this should just be a base-game feature.

Ground Deformation

Speaking of Roads and driveable surfaces, it would be awesome to see the dirt and gravel paths on our farms start to deteriorate over time, needing fresh gravel, or more dirt, or just care and maintenance. Maybe something pops up like “Hey guy, your paths are getting a little worn down. Grab a roller and smooth them out.” Something little like that to keep us engaged with not only our fields, but our farms as well.

Not only that, maybe if we don’t keep up our lanes, they get muddy with lots of rain, and we could possibly get stuck when driving down them! This would also be a fantastic addition to the fields! Real Dirt Mod, Real Mud Mod, all that good stuff! These things together would take away all the monotony of field work, and actually make it challenging to do things. You might not be able to seed today because you’ll get stuck. But let’s be real, you’re gonna do it anyway! (haha)

And since we’re talking about Ground Deformation, let’s talk about digging! This is something that players have wanted to see for years! Sure, there’s a pc mod for it, but we’re talking all-platforms here! I do understand that maybe we wouldn’t be able to dig everywhere, and it probably wouldn’t work exactly like you would expect, but maybe there are specific areas where it could work!

Like rock quarries, forestry areas, mines, places like that where the ground has been prepared on the map! Farming Simulator rarely goes all-in on new features, so having them delegated to a specific area on the map is a great place to start!

When I went to Volvo a few years ago, I was SURE we were getting digging and deformable ground in Farm Sim 22, but it turned out to be a logging dlc. Don’t get me wrong, those massive Volvo Excavators were great additions. Now, let’s give them something to do!

Land & Renting

One feature that comes up time and time again is Renting Land instead of buying it. Being able to flip fields was a really nice way to get money fast in FS19, in comparison to FS17 where we couldn’t sell fields after buying them. However, flipping fields would be a lot less of a problem if we could just rent the land.

Renting gives you the opportunity to have the field area, farm it, and pay the land-owner either a flat-rate or a portion of sales from the crops to pay for the land and the right to use it. Kinda like renting an apartment. Imagine going into new farmer mode, and being able to have more than 2 or 3 fields at the start because you invested in renting some of the surrounding land.

Combine these with starting in Hard Mode, and the money would make a lot more sense in the long run rather than just being almost impossible to survive. It would also add more realism. And let’s face it, more players are asking for realism than they are for unrealistic gameplay. Though, you know what I like at the end of the day! (haha)

Environment is a tricky one, as this part of Farm Sim has progressed and stayed stagnant both at the same time. It seems like one of the bigger parts of the game that GIANTS could expand on to make it even better! I hope in the next installment, we see massive jumps in the Environment, Weather, and the way we interact with it!

Crops

Spraying

Next, let’s talk about crops. Farming Simulator started as a Tractor Game where we could Farm the land. And crops play a massive role in that! They are how we get money, at the end of the day. And being able to do different things with different crops both in the field, and after harvest dictates the way we all play. Some play realistically, and some go wild. But we all have to harvest crops. So let’s talk about them.

Before harvest, there’s lots of ways to care for your crops. And players have been dying for more variation on the fertilization and irrigation side of things. Bugs play a massive role in real farming, having to spray insecticides, as well as fungicides to protect crops from their natural enemies. Perhaps these could work the same way weeds do, with a way to turn them off, of course.

And Anhydrous Ammonia! It’s a massive player in real farming, providing a high source of nitrogen for crops. It’s also very cost-effective compared to other nitrogen fertilizers. We could also have specifics like Urea, Nitric Acid, and Ammonium Nitrate. I’m sure there are more, but I’m a digital farmer at the end of the day and not on the up-and-up with fertilizers in real life.

Another way to care for crops is by simply watering them. Irrigation is huge, and more recent mods in FS22 have provided Pivots and things like that, but seeing these as part of the base game would be awesome! Or go all the way and flood the fields for things like Rice! How epic would that be?

New Crops

While we’re at it, let’s talk about some new crops. Some of the biggest I’ve seen from the community are Rice, Peanuts, Tulips and Bulb Farming, and more trees. Currently, we’ve got the biggest crops in the US ingame already, but we’re still missing things like some Fruit and Tree Nuts, Triticale, Cassava, Bananas, Sweet Potatoes, Onions, Yams, Plantains, Millet, & Peas just to name a few.

Of course, there are also lots of Grass-crops that are missing as well, like Alfalfa, Ryegrass, Big Bluestem, and Indiangrass. Again, just to name a few. There are tons out there, and I think at the end of the day, we’re all just looking for ‘more’.

Speaking of more – more productions for the crops. Sure, Flour is used to make bread and cake, but it’s also used for pastries, pasta, pizza, and even as a metal cleaner! Just add salt and white vinegar, and you can clean brass or copper surfaces! Not sure how that’s useful in Farming Simulator, but just an example.

Additionally, with new trees and wood-types, could come new productions for wood. Maybe, you need to add wood to build your own sheds and barns! This was a feature in FS22 with the boats and roller coaster on Silverrun, and could be a very cool addition for those Start-From-Scratch players!

All in all, better crop textures, or at least updated 4k textures, with better ground effects and stubble destruction are things that the majority of players are looking for, and what better time to knock these out of the park than with the next game!

Swathing / Straw

Speaking of stubble, more straw types and how to handle them. But not only that, being able to Swath certain crops. We know that MacDon will be coming to the next game from the Agritechnica 23 teaser with the New Holland CR.11, so being able to use their swathing equipment on different crops, like we can on Edgewater Saskatchewan, would be a nice addition to the game!

Furthermore, different straw types like not just “straw”, but Corn Stalks, and different straw from Wheat and Barley, to Soybean and Canola. There could be an incentive there to do one crop over another, especially if the straw is worth more money. Likewise, having the straw chaff aid in the fertilizing of the next crop, like with the Chopped Straw Mod. These would all be huge over what we have now.

Quality of Life

At the end of the day, we want things to be better, and quality of life improvements to crops goes a long way. For example, those of use here in the US use Bushels, not liters, so having that as an option would certainly make things easier to understand the size and scale of how much crop we have.

The ability to double crop in the same growing season would also be massive. All the farmers around me double crop, they’ll have beans and corn, or barley and corn, some sort of different crop rotation going on. There’s always something in the field. For the most part anyway.

In FS17 and 19, we had Seasons Geos, yes I’m bringing these back up again, because right now the growth calendar is locked by the map, and most map makers just don’t care to take the time to change it. And even more, don’t understand it. Let knowledgeable modders work their magic with Seasons Geos and bring double cropping back!

And one that I would be excited to see is Faster Working Speeds. I know, go with me here. You may know that most things are not done at 6 mph. Sometimes, you need to harvest slower than that to let your combine process all the corn coming in. Sometimes, you can till much faster than 9 mph to agitate the soil more. Having unlocked speeds, or at least a setting to do so, would be not only a nice Quality of Life improvement, but also give us a chance to shoot for optimal yields on crops.

Maybe going 8 mph is ok when seeding, but you have to go 4 mph to harvest. If you go faster, your yield could be lower than expected. This would also be a neat addition to Precision Farming, if it’s going to be a separate mod again going further.

So that’s crops. There’s a lot that can still be added. At the end of the day, farmers everywhere are doing different things, and now is as good a time as ever to shoot for the moon on features, crops, and things that we want to see most!

Equipment

Brands

Let’s talk about everyone’s favorite – Equipment! What tractors and brands do we want to see? What equipment do we want? What features should your favorite truck have? Let’s talk about it!

And let’s get the biggest part out of the way first! Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Nissan, Honda, Toyota, etc, etc, etc. Do we want these all in Farm Sim? Yes. Do I think any of them will come with the next game? No. But do we want them? Yes!

What about Lizard? I don’t think we’ll ever get away from Lizard. It would be nice if everything was branded, but it would also be nice if we got Ford, Chevy, and Dodge. So unless you just don’t want half the mods on modhub, I think we’ll have to stick with Lizard for now. Farmer Cop wants Salamander, I’m not so sure. (haha)

Realistically, I think if the equipment just ‘looks’ like these, we’ll be ok. Would you be cool if the base game pickup looked exactly like a 2022 Chevy 2500, but was called the Lizard 2022? Ford and Ram guys will say no, but for everyone else I think having Lizard on it is fine.

I’ve also seen players asking for Mining Equipment, in addition to Public Works equipment with missions, similar to the Emergency Pack, but with more variety built in. I know this is Farming Simulator, not Police Simulator, but a lot of players use Farm Sim as a base for role-play, and a lot of content creators don’t even farm. So Mining and Public Works with Missions isn’t far out there.

One thing we could all say yes to, is more Equipment in general, whether that be American, European, UK, South American, Asian… whatever. Just give us more! Some specific brands other than those mentioned previously, would include; Big Tex Goosenecks, Allis Chalmers, Gleaner, Kenworth, and Peterbilt. I’m sure there’s a million more, so let me know what you want to see!

Equipment

As for some equipment, there’s so much more that we could do. More gooseneck trailers base game, other than the horse trailer. Flat beds, dump trailers, things like that. More medium-duty equipment and machines, like smaller semi-trucks, medium-sized combine harvesters, and more options for hauling, similar to the Lode King Super-B.

Folding Log Trailers for the woodsmen out there, and riding mowers or zero-turn mowers for the players that want their own lawn care business. On top of that, maybe some contracts where NPC’s need their yards mowed. Maybe that could be a contract, too! I’d do them for sure!

We’re also looking for more realistic equipment, with more opening doors, hoods, lights, and more sound effects! Sounds were greatly improved for FS22 over 19, and I know the sound dudes work super hard at GIANTS Software! Let’s give them a place to shine, once again!

Speaking of realistic features, if the truck has 4 seats, let me put 4 players in it. Passenger seating should be in everything. All doors should be able to enter and exit, with full animations of the player going in and out. No more magically appearing in the cabin. I know this kind of thing would be difficult for mods, so I wouldn’t expect that, but base game equipment should have these animations at this point.

Maintenance

Let’s talk about Maintenance, and working on our equipment. Of course, Right To Repair is a big topic, and farmers have been fighting against larger companies for years over this. I’m assuming damage will never come to Farm Sim, as GIANTS have said that no company wants their equipment to break. BUT, let’s pretend for a minute, that it could.

I would love to see things like Oil Changes, Breakdowns due to not starting the equipment for a while, or rusting. Tire wear is another one. Overtime, tires wear down. I’m sure you’ve seen the tiktok from Goose2659 stitching with ImprestonBradley talking about how $100 Grand would get him the tires on a tractor. Having maintenance costs like this would certainly change the way I play Farming Simulator. And as always, having the ability to turn off damage in the menu for players that don’t want it.

Others

There’s other requests for equipment, like aircraft for spraying fields. This is done all over the world, and would be an awesome way to do the job! Maybe it could be one of the jobs to hire out to AI! Imagine they fly by in 1 or 2 passes, and spray a whole field! Or grab a plane from the shop and take-off from the local airport and do it yourself! OH MAN, can you imagine having an airport on every map? Make it happen! Oh I want it!

In general, more options. More cotton equipment other than 2 harvesters. More options US and EU warning signs. More wheel options, with more US tractors having narrow dual options. More variations in logging equipment. Maybe we can start with an Axe and chop wood instead of using a chainsaw to start.

And more customization overall. I would love to see a few engine upgrades more than just the ones the factory gives. Maybe it’s just me, but I want to put more power on everything! Farming Simulator 22 showed us just how big of a jump we can do from previous games when it comes to customization. And seeing that same jump from 22 to whatever is next, is a must!

Animal Husbandry

Animals

Lastly, let’s talk about Animals. FS17, 19, and 22 have all had very different animal systems, from the free-for-all that was animals in 17 with basic feeding, to the more realistic approach to animal numbers in pens for 19 and 22, but again, with basic feeding.

Players have been asking for a more in depth animal system for each iteration of the game, with not much added each time. I’m talking about food types, especially with new crops to feed them. Feeding robots for smaller animal pens, not just the large ones.

Full growth cycles for animals with visible changes from baby pigs up to full-grown boars! Calves to Bulls, Lamps to Sheep, and even puppies to dogs! We’ve been locked down to only 1 dog that really does nothing except walk around for the past few games. I would love to see more variations with man’s best friend!

With more animals comes more by-products, and having the option to clean them again would be awesome! I felt more connected to the animal system in FS17 than I have to anything offered in 19 or 22, and having that feature alone back in the next game would bring more work and more activities for digital farmers to interact with.

And of course, the animals need somewhere to stay. Mods have allowed us to build our own animal enclosures for certain animals, but having this as a base-game feature would definitely liven up the market! Maybe you don’t have room, or the money, for a custom-built enclosure by Horman. But, you’ve got money for a fence and some troughs. Boom, turn your grass field into a sheep pasture just like that.

Sometimes, animals get sick as well, and have to be quarantined off. It would be nice if we could hire a vet, or buy medicine to heal them. The Enhanced Animal System Mod does a really good job of taking what the game has, and making it more closer to the way it works in real life.

Animals no longer produce just 1 offspring, but several depending on the breed. Or overcrowding affecting the health of all animals, even animals dying that are just too old. If you’re a PC player and use animals on your farm, you very likely use this mod all the time. I don’t in videos, but it’s always in my personal gamesave.

Lastly, let’s talk about wild animals. FS22 added Deer, but that’s just the first pairing of new animals since Birds were introduced into FS19. It would be nice to see more wildlife, and perhaps region-specific animals, like Wild Boars, Foxes, Weasels, and Badgers to name a few.

Or, go a direction that could be beneficial to players; Wild Horses. We could tame them, like in Minecraft, and have them on our farm. Maybe even use horses with carts to get around, or cart grain to sell points. Even using Oxen with implements in our fields for tillage and things like that.

Animals in Farming Simulator have played a large role in many player’s farms, but have been under-utilized in the grand scheme of things for new players. Some of us just like to farm, and that’s it. And there’s nothing wrong with that. I would love to see every aspect of the game enhanced and added to for the next entry, whatever it may be.

Conclusion

So in conclusion, we can all say that some things added in FS22 were great, and some things need to be reverted back to the way they were in previous games. The Farming Simulator playerbase is passionate and very vocal, and this list could not have been compiled without you.

Almost everything we talked about was a submission from you. And now it’s time to hear from you, once again. What do you think was missed? What still needs to be expanded on to make this list perfect? Additionally, what do you not agree with? Was there something that you think was totally wrong? Let me know!
